From My Sketchbook

For most of my career, I've spent far more time creating than talking about my work.

Lately, I've been reflecting on what connects my compositions, teaching, and community projects. I've realized that they all begin in the same place: with a question that I care about deeply enough to live with for a long time.

I'd like to begin sharing more of that journey here—not just finished works, but the questions, discoveries, and artistic process behind them.

I'll call these posts From My Sketchbook.

Think of them as pages from an ongoing sketchbook—reflections on artistic practice, creativity, teaching, and the ideas that continue to shape my work. Some will be reflections I've come to understand, while others will simply be questions I'm still living with.
