Visiting Grandpa, a multi-channel soundscape based on my memories of my grandfather, will be broadcast live on Radiophrenia from Glasgow’s Centre for Contemporary Arts. Radiophrenia is a temporary art radio station in Glasgow, Scotland – a two-week exploration into current trends in sound and transmission arts.
Visiting Grandpa was written when I learned that the Iranian revolutionary guard demolished the historic cemetery of Baha'is in Shiraz (Iran), where my grandfather's remain, as well as many other Baha'is', were buried.
For more information about the date and time of the broadcast please visit: http://radiophrenia.scot/
I am leading a collaborative concert project dedicated to the bicentenary of the birth of The Báb.
A portion of the concert program will arise from a current call for scores open to all composers around the world to write a composition inspired by the theme of "celebration of the oneness of humankind". Up to four compositions will be selected by a jury panel of professional composers and performers.
In addition to the selected works, there will be compositions by Christos Hatzis, Norbert Palej, Rebekah Cummings and I in the program.
