Exhibition Rooted in Iran Dec 17-Jan 9, 2022

HilbertRaum, Berlin, Germany

Many thanks to Ruth Wiesenfeld for preparing the exhibition ‘Rooted in Iran' in collaboration with the Iranian Female Composers Association within the framework of her ongoing project Towards Sound. In this exhibition, sketches of my composition process along with sound samples and interview excerpts will be presented at HilbertRaum, Berlin, Germany from December 17, 2021 to January 9, 2022.

If you don't live in Germany and unable to visit in person, you can see the exhibition online at: http://www.towardssound.org/rooted-in-iran.html

Towards Sound: Rooted in Iran (online exhibition)

Many thanks to Ruth Wiesenfeld for preparing the exhibition ‘Rooted in Iran' in collaboration with the Iranian Female Composers Association within the framework of her ongoing project Towards Sound. As the exhibition cannot open as planned in Hilbert Raum in Berlin in January 2021 dues to Covid 19 regulations, she created an online version instead. Radiophrenia Glasgow 2019

Glasgow, Scotland

Visiting Grandpa, a multi-channel soundscape based on my memories of my grandfather, will be broadcast live on Radiophrenia from Glasgow’s Centre for Contemporary Arts. Radiophrenia is a temporary art radio station in Glasgow, Scotland – a two-week exploration into current trends in sound and transmission arts.

Visiting Grandpa was written when I learned that the Iranian revolutionary guard demolished the historic cemetery of Baha'is in Shiraz (Iran), where my grandfather's remain, as well as many other Baha'is', were buried.

For more information about the date and time of the broadcast please visit: http://radiophrenia.scot/

Dawn: Celebrating the Oneness of Humankind

Toronto Center for the Arts, Lyric Theatre

I am leading a collaborative concert project dedicated to the bicentenary of the birth of The Báb.
A portion of the concert program will arise from a current call for scores open to all composers around the world to write a composition inspired by the theme of "celebration of the oneness of humankind". Up to four compositions will be selected by a jury panel of professional composers and performers.

In addition to the selected works, there will be compositions by Christos Hatzis, Norbert Palej, Rebekah Cummings and I in the program.
